Giants fill-in C Koets out for season; OL Diehl out indefinitely

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants center Adam Koets tore ligaments in his knee and will miss the rest of the season.

Not only was Koets hurt Sunday in a 41-7 win at Seattle, but starting tackle/guard David Diehl has a partially torn hamstring and an injury to a muscle in his hip, a person familiar with Diehl's injury said Monday.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak for the team.

Diehl, who has started every game since joining the Giants in 2003 as a fifth-round draft pick, is going to be listed week to week by the team.

The team does not know how long Diehl will be sidelined.

Koets, who played a number of positions on the line on Sunday, started three games for regular center Shaun O'Hara.

Guard Rich Seubert was moved to center against Seattle because the team was concerned about the crowd noise.

The Giants did not say in which knee he tore the anterior cruciate ligament.
