Magic intrigued by NFL team ownership in L.A. or Miami

Former NBA superstar Magic Johnson attended the Dolphins' home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday and reiterated that he is very interested in being part of any ownership group that would bring an NFL team back to Los Angeles.

Watching football on Sundays will be a whole new experience with NFL Network's new channel, NFL RedZone. Find out why.

Johnson said he was at Sunday's game at the behest of Dolphins owner Steve Ross. Johnson said he hasn't had any talks with Ross about becoming a minority owner of the Dolphins, but he praised the organization at length and said he would "definitely" be excited about discussing that possibility.

Ross has brought in celebrities such as Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, Serena Williams and Venus Williams as minority owners of the Dolphins.

Johnson's interest in the NFL came to light earlier this week, when he told the Los Angeles Times he would be interested in bringing an NFL team back to Los Angeles. Johnson said then that he hadn't had any talks with the NFL, which hasn't had a team in Los Angeles since the Rams and Raiders left the city after the 1994 season.

Johnson, 51, recently sold his small ownership stake in the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers to Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong and sold his Starbucks outlets back to the company, fueling speculation about his future.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
